Disappointing victory

...which is of course a huge exaggeration, a win is never really a disappointment. Oh, I'm talking about football again, btw. My English favourites, Liverpool won 2 - 0 away from home against West Bromwich today. Both goals came from exceptional passes from Xabi Alonso. The second, where he passed the ball from just ahead of the Liverpool box to Djibril Cisse's boot just outside the other box. Djibril converted the pass brilliantly.

Actually Djibril played really well today, too. Which is a first, as far as I have seen. Maybe he'll start acting his price, now. He also made the last pass prior to the first goal, perfectly converted by my hero Robbie Fowler.

Now, why was I somewhat disappointed by this result? This was Liverpool's fifth consecutive win, and the first in these five where they haven't scored 3 goals or more. After the 5 - 1 thrashing of Fulham, Newcastle United were beaten 3 - 1 away from home, Birmingham were utterly and totally defeated 7 - 0 in the FA cup at their home turf, while Everton were beaten 3 - 1 in the traditional derby, including two red and 9 yellow cards.
