Football

Upgraded to Drupal 4.7.4

The upgrade is complete, it went fairly well, although I had to fiddle a bit with some of the more esoteric "fixes" I had for the previous version.

Also, I haven't looked up the old favicon from my backup yet. If something looks totally out of hand, please tell me.

Site upgrade upcoming

Sometime, probably tonight, I will upgrade the Drupal installation. Although a minor reason, it has been one of the reasons for me not writing too much lately. This version is not particularly capable of preventing comment spam, leaving me with about 1000 SPAM comments to deal with (to get through to any possible real comments) over the last couple of months.

I've heard that 4.7 has a very good filter, which I want to try. It also makes it easier to mass delete spam comments without leafling through each and everyone.

I might possibly also upgrade the theme if all else goes well.

The

FA Cup and recent rise in form

I've noticed that my previous posts on football is somewhat less read than the rest, particularly those about D. Expected I guess, as I mostly only have announced this blog in the D community. If you can't stand football (or Liverpool FC ...), you can use either of the category choices to the right :-)

Over to the joyous reason to blog about football! Last saturday, this years final in the English FA Cup was played at the Stadium of Light in Cardiff. Liverpool played it for the first time since their win in 2001, and were

Disappointing victory

...which is of course a huge exaggeration, a win is never really a disappointment. Oh, I'm talking about football again, btw. My English favourites, Liverpool won 2 - 0 away from home against West Bromwich today. Both goals came from exceptional passes from Xabi Alonso. The second, where he passed the ball from just ahead of the Liverpool box to Djibril Cisse's boot just outside the other box. Djibril converted the pass brilliantly.

The return of a goal scoring hero

The other day a football event occurred that would have made me euphorius, except for the fact that I was lying down being sick. This event involved the English football team Liverpool FC. Hang on, why am I as a Norwegian capable of getting euphorius due to an English team? This has it's roots in the '60's, when NRK (the Norwegian equivalent of BBC) started to broadcast English football matches every saturday afternoon.
